Untitled Is The Word For It.

Tonight is indeed Halloween.

There's a bottle of vodka in my freezer which is making me smile.

Because right now, there's a stack of paperwork on my desk which I have to do.

I know that you should never start a sentence with 'because', but fuckit.

Both my parents have been in horrendous moods for the last week. So I'm avoiding them.

If I was an American citizen I'd vote for Obama.

The handy thing about George Bush is, that when your talking about him in any digital text media, His name doesn't get underlined in red as a misspelling, like Barack Obama.

Yesterday my memory stick with several projects and a load of pictures which I no longer have the originals of broke. I'm not upset.

It feels like I'm in a bubble. Nothing upsets me or makes me happy these days.

Being poor is shit. Yesterday, for the first time in 6 months, my phone ran out of credit. The recession is beginning to bite. And I'm out of here. I couldn't do anything. Except rob WiFi.

With this WiFi, I went to my networks website, logged in, and used my free online texts. They didn't plan for that.

When I get my degree I'm going to Australia. Or Chicago. Or Somewhere nice. Because Ireland is fucked.

I have little to say.

Tomorrow is pay day.

Peace out.

Revenge

So. You throw mw out of the living room for the sake of a TV show when I'm trying to do a project? Right. I'll go upstairs to my cold room where the radiator doesn't work. That's fine.

6 speakers. 8ohms each. 300Watt amplifier.

Speakers PRESSED to the floorboards.

So, you put the speakers against an 89 year old floor, about 3 inches of air and then there's the downstairs ceiling.

Try;

Black&Gold, by Sam Sparrow,

Electric Feel, Justice Remix by MGMT

I Created Disco, by Calvin Harris, and finally,

Back to Black, by Amy Crackhouse.

iTunes Equaliser, Manual Adjustment. The lamp is rattling.

I'm a spiteful little man tonight.

Paint & Protest

Sam here.....

I'm off college for the week. Sweet deal, right. This is my 'review week' where we are suggested to go back over all the work we've done! They gave us a fuckload of projects to do as well, which I did in one night. I just stayed up and did them one after another so I have the whole week free!

So last Saturday afternoon, I went down to Ventures (Like scouts, but no badges, leaders or uniforms). We had been asked to paint a compass on the floor. Just because our new den is opening next week after almost a decade of refurbishments. It took 15 hours of markings and paint to complete.

Image(181)  Image(183)

Image(184) Image(185)

                              Image(191)

I'm so proud of that. After it was finished we went around the place, the 4 of us, grabbing people and pinning them against the wall, and saying that if they stepped on, or damaged the paint, we would damage them in a permanent way. We said this to every individual, because people assume things never apply to them. It's dry and it just looks brilliant!

So yes, last Wednesday was protest day! It was so much fun, we were protesting with college to stop the reintroduction of college fees! Basically it was an excuse to put a naggin of vodka in a 7up bottle, get free tee shirts, and walk through town shouting slogans like

'stick yer fees up yer gees!' &

'fuck the fees, not your mother!'

Some total genius made this banner and hung it across the ha'penny bridge!

Image(168)

So I've been a busy boy. Oh, and I had sex with Dar. Today. Oops, yeah I know. But damn some things get better with age! He's like a fine wine!

The Most 'Celtic Tiger' Thing I Have Ever Done

Sam here....

A tiny bit of background before I begin; The full Wikipedia Page here

Celtic Tiger  is a name for the period of rapid economic growth in the Republic of Ireland that began in the 1990s and slowed in 2001, only to pick up pace again in 2003 and then have slowed down once again by 2007. Ireland experienced a boom in which it was transformed from one of Europe's poorer countries into one of its wealthiest.

So we all follow? We were poor. Then we were rich. So today, because there's visitors coming, I was cleaning this

bathroom brush

the new bathroom in the extension,

while wearing this

Abercrombie Shot

Abercrombie. How very affluent in little catholic Ireland.

While I was scrubbing, I was listening to

idock

an iPod.

While all this rocking out to MGMT and cleaning was going on,

We were paying this guy

ntl worker

To install a DVR. Like a Tivo, to you Americans.

Can you say recession?

Because I sure as hell can't!!

Insano Mammy

Sam here....

On my birthday, Hannah bought me some stuff. Shotglasses, a deck of special cards, a piercing, and a scarf.

A scarf. Red and white sort of print, very comfortable.

It went missing about 3 weeks ago, and I didn't think much of it. Until now.

And I found it jammed between a piece of furniture and a wall in my Mothers bedroom.

And I asked her what was going on;

She said she didn't want me wearing it because it was 'gay'.

It'll be 4 months next Monday, since I came out.

I've had it up to here. I feel like crying.

Friends & Family

Sam here....

So, today, in Communications, I found my mind wandering. I was on Jacks Blog, Butterflies&Hurricanes, re-reading his 'Long Ago' series (Link here), and I realised that whoever reads this, probably knows very little about how I reached this point in my life. So I'm going to try and fit it into one post.

So, I'm the youngest of 3 kids. I have a brother and a sister.

My sister got almost all A's in her exams, got an honours degree in college, got published in an engineering journal, got a great job and now has her own place. She's 23 and the absolute star of the family. She went to one of Irelands oldest and richest colleges. Like the Irish Harvard, is what it would be compared to. So she's great. I was in her apartment last week, I walk in, and there's this bong sitting on the table, with what I can only describe as tentacles coming out of it, and a block of hash on the table. So she's the great one. Who does drugs. But it's ok. Because, you know, she's the great engineer.

My brother. He's 21. He dropped out of College the first time, he was doing biomedical engineering. Then he worked in a shop for a year, was (and still is drinking heavily). He went back to college to do business and management. Went in about once a week. Failed all his exams and repeated his first year. So He passed first year the second time around, and has just failed his second year exams. He's just always out drinking, there's no consistency. He has no job, never goes to college, he's wasting his life basically.

Then there's me. I don't know what to say. 19, passed my exams, in college now, passing by. I'm the gay one, although my mother has told nobody, she's still dealing with it. I'm just starting to go out more, like the nightlife and men and all that sort of thing. I'm beginning my adult social life, if you will.

My mother has nicknamed me 'Bowie', because she's convinced I'll marry a girl and pop out some kids. But I know that I'm 100% gay. I presume she told my father, but he and I haven't spoken about it since. Or, ever, for that matter. He just told me to be subtle, and not get beaten up.

But maybe my father isn't like the typical dad? I mean, I'm 19, and he has yet to try his hand at teaching me about condoms, shaving and driving. I know all except driving. So will he keep his distance, or is this the norm?

Em, I'm going to deal with the past now.

So, I had a few best friends until I was about 10. Then I met a group of people from the streets around my area. And that was fine. But it wasn't. They were horrible. They treated me differently, and although I didn't know it at the time, it was horrible.

I didn't really know any differently, so I stuck with them, with loyalty undeserved. You know the way, looking back, everything seems to have a golden shimmer almost? Well this is just grayscale. I went with that set of friends until I was 15, and I met all the 'cool kids'. Oh, they smoked, drank, took drugs and they hung around on an abandoned golf course and they were so grown up. In my eyes, that is. I had a few good times, but mostly, especially towards the end, it was more about the drugs.

My parents, seeing sense got me away, and thank god they did. I was friendless for a while, but this was late 2005/2006, and I had a job which was to occupy most of my time, so I didn't really feel alone.

Summer 2006, One day, I went to the shops to get something for my parents. I met a mutual friend and talked to him for a while. His phone rang and I heard someone say 'We're on our way'. 'Who?' I asked.

I met a group of about 8 people, all normal, nice. They said hello, and whatever, just the usual smalltalk. Then, as I was leaving, I was asked would I be around later. I said yes, just because.

I went out that evening, not knowing what to expect. I went out, to the green up the road, and they were lying in the fresh grass, on a summers evening, listening to somebodys iPod speakers. I'll never forget the song, it was '7 minutes in Heaven' by Fall Out Boy. I laughed, socialised, met everyone, had fun. And got numbers.

This, October 2008, I'm still friends with those people. They are my inner circle. I came out to them, they though it was cool, and asked questions like if I get turned on by my own cock, and, in my view, it hasn't changed their opinion of me.

So, now I'm in college, and I swear, it's like being back with the shit friends. Their constantly announcing everything to be 'gay'. They make fart noises. Their in college. I mean there's a limit. I digress.

So yeah, this year, I'm feeling the exam bite of last year surprisingly. Most of my friends are in the year below me, doing what I did last year. Studying 24/7, only coming out on the weekends, barely.

So as the year goes on, about 70% of my friends will become more, and more distant. Which is shit. But, I'm driving to meet new people in college and throwing myself into volunteering for the Scouts. So I should occupy some time.

The Whore & The Homeless

Sam here.....

I didn't get the job. I'm going to be broke for Christmas. But the family know I'm not working, so maybe they won't be expecting much?

Have you guys seen the new cologne that everyone seems to be talking about? I think it's called Recession, by Calvin Klein. Must try it some day!

Boston Tea Party. He commented me. I read his blog. Interesting guy, check it out. Linky here, yes yes!

Ok. So onto real things. Internet died. I'm in college typing this. I brought my laptop in, skipped classes and just sat here on Bebo and reading blogs all day. Very fulfilling. Let me tell you!

Image(157)

So yes, after Dar decides that he never wants a shot of my box again, excuse the pun, I began to throw myself around. Like somewhat of a slut. But classy like that.

We have a little code developed in my phonebook. If they have the number zero in front of their name, they want sex. Or I want sex. I have like 0unknown, 0unknown1, 0unknown number2. I was never good at names. But then we have like '0Colin town'.

I know being a slut isn't a glamorous thing. But I have retained certain things. I will not blow a married man, nor will I be blown by a married man. HIV is just like an instant no, and their number is put on my blocked list. I have rules.

But Ste. Oh Ste. We have shitloads in common. We get on really well. We both hate the same things. We're both super sarcastic. The thing is he makes about €30,000 more than unemployed me a year, which can be unfair at the best of times. But he's like my sugar daddy. of 6 months my senior...

Anyway, yes. Ste is like old fashioned courtship. He's nice, considerate and he came and met me from college and walked me to the bus stop today. How nice is that. So my open door policy to casual blowing is coming to an end.

Ah yes, more news. You lovely readers should know my disdain for our begging friend, linky here, Yes, well I was on the bus into College this morning, I caught him at it again, and subsequently photographed him.

And I was harassed. Me. Harassed. By a woman who was wearing a skirt so tight, it made her fat ass so unbelievably, em, unbelievable! Needless to say, I put my €30 headphones back in, hit play on my €279 iPod, and took out my €279 phone, and snapped away, sending a few copies via my high speed data network in my lovely 1st world country. That fat bitch. And ugh, none of her business.

When the recession throws her out on the street, needless to say, I won't be throwing my change in her cup. I put everything on my Laser card. Do you know how many germs live on coins?

And of course the picture is here for the taking.

Don't be ridiculous.

Sour Ireland.

It's a depressing truth; Ireland is in a recession. And it just keeps getting worse. Almost everything has been cut. There's two things which are particularly affecting me - Medical cards & Free college education. Things just keep getting more & more expensive. And my parents haven't got a pension.

Anybody over the age of 65, who is a resident of the Free Republic of Ireland is entitled to a card, which entitles them to free medical healthcare. Everything is covered. The cards were introduced in 2001 when Ireland was in the height of prosperity, money was flowing free. Everyone had LCD TV's, Audi's and 3 sun holidays a year. So while everyone was in the mint, the elderly got medical cards.

Now there's a recession. A poxy recession. So in the budget that has pushed the price of most things up, they revoked the medical cards for certain categories. Like 2 older people living together are not entitled to a medical card. Loads of conditions like that, which is very unfair. And my parents are about twelve years away from being entitled to these benefits. But not now.

If the government added 50CENT to the price of alcohol, they wouldn't have to cut the medical card.

My parents don't have state pensions. Their state jobs give them pensions, but that's less than €200 a week. So my parents are going to have pay for medicine and heat and electricity all on about €400 a week. That is tragic. I don't know how their going to live through the future. Why am I worried about it?

Anybody who is attending (3rd level) college for the first time in Ireland is entitled to a free education.  I had to pay €900 as a capitation fee to college, but that covers the whole year, and is a small amount in comparison to what I would pay without the free education thing.

The government is introducing college fees again. €2,700. For 1 year of college. That's ridiculous. So all the Colleges in Dublin and surrounding areas are going on a protest march to the Department of Education! We're 'fighting the fees'.

Them fuckers aren't making me pay!

5 Addictions!

Sam Here....

Jack challenged me to write about 5 addictions, So here I go....

#1 - Slip on Shoes

Image(150) I have a bit of an addiction. I can't get enough of slip-on shoes. I have 5 pairs, and one pair of lace ups. Like they're so comfortable and easy to wear. Its like walking around in slippers. But there's no insole. So your foot isn't supported. So your arches collapse. But god their comfy.

#2 - Buying New Phones On A Whim!

SCAN0010 I'm so bad at this. I have to stop buying new phones. I'm Nokia, Sony & Sony Ericsson's collective wet dream.

From top to bottom, left to right.

Nokia 3310, Nokia 6020, Sony Ericsson W810, Nokia E51 (current phone), Sony CMD-J5, Nokia 3210, Nokia 3510i, Nokia 6230i.

There's about €1,000 worth of phone there. God I'm wasteful.

#3 - iTunes

Image(151)

I'm an iAddict. Seriously. Like the first thing open on the laptop is iTunes. I just can't get enough. I love music, I love the whole thumbnail view thing we've got going on there. I love how it organises itself, unlike a certain media player, made by windows, which is so hard to use and so unorganised that I just didn't have a media player until i bough my 1st iPod and got iTunes with it. Cough cough.

#4 - Touchin' Me Willy!

Image(153) Yep, that's right. I love beating my meat. Like when you can make yourself feel that great, can you blame me for not wanting to put on clothes and get out of bed in the morning? And on a weekly average, I'd be considered an addict. At least I'm not on drugs....

#5 - Making Up New Drinks

Vodka mixes well with....

  • 7up and Ribena
  • Orange and Lemon
  • Lime
  • Dr. Pepper
  • Cranberry and strawberries
  • Lucozade
  • Red Bull and Gingerale
  • Apple Mickey Finns.
Try them!

Ok, so now I have to pass this challenge on to other people! So,

Justin, the ball is in your court.

JBGBC
, same to you!

Chris, the challenge is yours....

Craig. This should be good!

Workin' & Lovin'

Sam here....

Ok. So i've had a sex date and a proper date. Also, I'm getting a job. And I got my tragus re-pierced. Badly.

I'm going to go through them one by one.

So yeah, I met this guy. Went to his. He, in his words 'can't take it'. That was a compliment. I blew him. He came, and proceeded to rudely throw me out me his apartment. What a bastard. But i left a lit cigarette in the stairwell of his building. The fire alarm should have gone off because it was a no smoking building. Good enough for him.

I met ste online. Random add. And it was a bit of a coincidental meet up, but we both get on really well. Like we went for a walk, and both of us had so much in common, it was strange. And when I woke up the next day, he text me, telling me he had a great night. So its all good, I'm seeing him tomorrow at some point for coffee and a chat.

Way back in September 2005 until some point in 2006, I worked in a shitty supermarket. It was low wages, shit work and my manager hated my guts. I was an illegal employee, so they could pay whatever they like, you know that way? Anyway, I'm still on good terms with most people there, and bitch manager has left. So I applied for a job, and I'll know on monday. Money is money at the end of the day and the shop is literally at the other end of the road. So its alright.

Oh. I got my tragus pierced. Again. And its right on none side. Like 1mm, is all that stops it from ripping. I feel ripped off. If it rips, I'll get it done again.

Movie Night, Money, Motivated & Something Else That Begins With M!

Sam here....

So I'm slowly finding my niche in the world. Like on Monday night just gone, we had a movie night. It was actually brilliant in terms of the social thing. Like we all arrived, and whatever, so while the butch lesbians sort out all the technical stuff while us gays talk away, we all kind of, in out own way, basically say that we all see each other around, but we don't know whether to say hi or not, in case whatever. So we all laugh about it, and so everyone is loosened up, everyone is playing nice and whatever, and the lesbians united tell us the DVD player is fucked. We have a computer, a projector and nothing else. So Me and another guy fun down with money and everybody's coffee orders, get the order (I got his number too...) and when we arrived back up, there's some very camp guys bebo page up on the projector and one of the guys is saying 'Yeah, so he gave a friend of mine Crabs and then dumped him. What a cunt' and we all agree. So for the next 2 hours, we sit there drinking coffee, going through exes bebos, myspaces and facebooks, while everyone judges them! The Photoshoot Attitude Crew didn't make an appearance at all though. Fuck 'em.

Something happened. Today I was in college, and as usual, I was fucking tired. So I decided to go to the coffee place and get one. I'm ordering a grande Cappuccino to go, while looking in my bag for change, I look up. And die.

About 2 weeks ago, I was somewhere where men who do be liking sausage go. Purely for sausage. Met this guy. Kinda disgusted me, but he gave me his number and I said I'd text him. Didn't even save the number! So I look up, and it's him. I go crimson. Pay and basically try to walk out of the place without blowing any more of its staff.

I'm officially poor. I'm spending money like I'm employed. But I'm not. So what the fuck, I have €150 to last me until the 1st of November. I have 2 parties this weekend. Next weekend, I have a house party and I'm going camping. I have A party on the 29th and the 31st. So will someone please stretch €150 over that. I'm not drinking anymore as well, I'll explain in a minute. But I need to pay €18 a week until November for transport as well. So yeah, I'm fucked

I beat Dublin Bus at their own game. The transport game! I cycles to college, saved myself €4, and was half an hour early. I passed the bus I would be on, when it was stuck in traffic. It sped past me on an open road, then 5 minutes later it was in a 2KM tailback. And I nipped through all the angry drivers. Air in my lungs. Why?

Diet. No more alcohol, Cycling to College, loads of other steps. It remains to be seen whether or not it has an impact?

Happiness Is A Strange Creature

Sam here

It's 4:48 in the afternoon. I'm lying in what can only be described as fancy squalor. I'm lying in just a tee shirt, with a comfortable polo neck. Naked otherwise. Listening to the soundtrack to Hedwig and The Angry Inch. I'm in my bed. The sheet is on the ground. I have a duvet and a thick blanket. My curtains are pulled but because its day, I threw another blanket over the curtain the kill the motherfucking light. I'm blogging on my phone because my laptop is on the floor, dead, and the charger is miles away. I'm wearing aviators because the light from my phone stings like a bitch. And I look hot in sunglasses.

I couldn't be happier. Like right now, this is bliss.

So last night I was being driven mad by the A grade gays. And the fact that I'd never been to a gay bar. So last night, I called on Holly. And we hit 'The Dragon'. It was, the classiest establishment I've ever been in. And everybody was NORMAL!! Like don't get me wrong, i haven't had some sort of moment where everything is suddenly clearer, Jesus no. It's just. Like Dar had planted this idea that all gay bars are sleazy shitholes. Their not. Well the dragon wasn't. It was nice, and we met this lovely guy. Holly disappeared for a smoke and we talked for like an hour and a half. And it was fucking nice. So Dar can shove his stereotype up his hole and swivel on it.

Like I don't get how this whole gay scene works, but judging on last night, everyone is alright. And the lady behind the bar gave us free shots. What a star. I mean, if you bump into someone by accident, you both apologise, there's no hassle, you're not going to get your teeth kicked out in a laneway. It's just so easy going.

And like every scene, hetro, homo, whatever has its A grade meat that's untouchable, right? So fuck them.

Oh, I have a date tomorrow too. A guy named Paul. I'm surprisingly calm.

I was talking to Jack, and he was planning a post for his blog, Butterflies and Hurricanes. I asked what he meant. He was writing drafts and a final piece. I just open the blank box and throw my thoughts down. They develop as I type. So can you tell?!

Thursday, October 09, 2008

fuck. fuck. fuck.

Sam here....

Can I find a normal guy please?

Like I went to college LGBT society. and it was like a 'Pull&Bear, TopMan, H&M and Abercrombie photo shoot. Thin. Bitchy twinks.

I want a normal guy. I'm getting really fucked off by the gay community. Like it's starting to drive me mad. Their either closeted and so genuine and nice. This is usually because they haven't been 'scened' yet.

Then they come out. Wear cardigans. Slip on shoes. Go to gay bars and spend the night judging everyone on appearance.

I'm fucked off with this.

Like is anybody nice out there? Someone normal. Nobody with issues, appearance based opinions or anything else? PLEASE!

seriously.

of you're normal. call me.

stick that in yer phone and hit the green button bitches.

Fuck this.

Moving On....

Sam here....

So basically last night, I came in, and signed in to MSN. Dar was online, and I started a conversation. I basically told him how I felt about him and got totally rejected by him. It's a just friends thing and he could never, ever see me in that way again apparently.

Men are shit. And he upset me.

But today is a new day. And I'll be ok.

How are you?

Suits, Single Status, Societies, & The Real World

Sam here....

So since my last post, I've had a very eventful few days. This is going to be a long post so go do what you need to do before you read! Right, lets go.

My Debs ball was on Monday night. So I went to college on Monday morning, let at one and went to pick up my suit. I arrived home, had a shower, something to eat and got all my shit together. People were coming to mine beforehand for drinks and idle conversation. They were due to arrive at 5, and at about 2 minutes to 5, I was like 'THERE'S NO FUCKING BLACK SOCKS, WHERE'S MY POXY CAMERA CHARGER?! FUCKING STRESS OF THIS!' So I got my shit together, got everyone together, had a vodka&lime or 2 and chilled out! So from mine, my 'date' and I left for a friend of ours' house. He had about 60 people up, caterers, people with trays of drinks. So I mingled, had the same conversation about college, the debs and the state of the economy about 20 times with 20 different people. Thankfully, the Limos arrived. They were fairly mint! We had like 2 bottles of champagne, and people were handing up bottles and cans in through the window, so we had loads on us. The drive out was so cool! About 20 minutes before we arrived, a friend of mine whips out a shoulder of Vodka, realising that he can't bring drink into the hotel! So basically, between the 6 of us, we had a bit of a team effort to consume it!

So we arrive, fall out of the limo and hit the bar. Everyone arrives, and me and a select few sit at the bar saying things like 'I wonder who brought miss piggy? that quiff must be something new, Bet ya Kermit doesn't like it', and the like, totally hammered! The meal was alright, and after it, i started to get sober, so I had a few more beverages, but because of all the food, I couldn't get drunk!

There was a nightclub attached to the Hotel, so we all went over. It was fairly good craic, there was a live band until one, then there was a DJ until 4. I remember at one point, drinking a JägerBomb, and not being able to finish it. My date, Fionnuala turns to me and screams 'FINISH IT YOU FUCKING PUSSY! DRINK! DRINK! DRINK! At that point my classmates, teachers and the barman were chanting at me! The Barman kept giving us free shots too, which was pretty cool! I stole one of the shot glasses actually.

Image(135)

So at half four, there was a stack of bread rolls with sausages and bacon in them sitting on the bar. we took one and got on the bus back to Dublin! We were dropped in the city centre at about 5:30AM, and headed back to mine. We were sitting there, under duvets, drinking tea and talking shit. then I threw them out of mine, at about 7AM, got 2 hours sleep, returned my damaged rental suit. I tore the waistcoat, lost 3 buttons and accidentally burnt the jacket with a cigarette. The rental place didn't notice the damage so it was happy days!

I headed to town, got some lunch with Hannah, and made my last lecture.

That day, I joined the LGB Society in my college. We had our first meeting, it was brilliant!I'm going on a thing called 'Pink Training' at some point in November, as well as some LGBT ball too. So it's all very exciting. And there's something too look at too :)

Yeah, CuntBF dumped Dar on Monday. Wait, What??! HELLS YES! DAR IS SINGLE! Happy days, anyone? So yeah, I'm like his fucking councillor at the moment, he was a cunt blah blah blah. So yes, the future is about as bright as that shot glass.

Yeah, this week has been pretty real. Like in the sense of college. their making us work, kind of. It's not all smiles and introductions any more. Now it's work time. Finally! I'm able for it, but it's challenging. So I'll try my best, and if I fail, I'll do hotel management!
